Medina Dairy awarded Sainsbury’s contract

24th May 2016

Medina Dairy is pleased to have been awarded a contract to supply fresh milk and cream to Sainsbury’s. The contract, which will commence from July 2017, will see Medina process fresh milk and cream at its Grade AA BRC accredited Watson’s Dairy located in Hampshire for supply to a proportion of Sainsbury’s stores in the South of England.

The new contract reinforces Medina’s presence in the retail fresh milk sector and is fully in line with its strategic goal of developing its supply relationships with the major national retailers.

Sheazad Hussain, Medina Dairy’s Chief Executive commented, “Medina Dairy’s vision is to increase our presence in the larger UK retail and foodservice market including the national multiples. We are therefore delighted to have been selected by Sainsbury’s to supply them with fresh milk and cream from our Watson’s dairy.

“The new Sainsbury’s contract reflects Medina’s ongoing commitment to investing in our processing and supply chain capabilities, management team and systems so that we remain a credible and competitive alternative in a consolidating market. It follows on from our securing of 100 million litres of fresh milk toll processing capacity at Severnside which is delivering further opportunities for us to develop relationships with national retail and foodservice customers.”
